Product Overview

Tacky Mats are designed for use at cleanroom entries to remove particulate matter from boots, casters, and cart wheels as they cross over the mat. Each adhesive mat contains 30 layers of tough, thin polyethylene film coated with medium tack adhesive to remove dirt and bacteria particles.

Each mat secures directly to the floor with a full surface adhesive backing, eliminating the need for a frame.

Key Performance Benefit

The adhesive surface captures particulate contamination from foot traffic and rolling equipment before it enters controlled environments. Multiple-layered sheets allow for continued use by simply removing the top sheet when soiled.

Material & Construction

  • 30 layers of tough, thin polyethylene film
  • Each layer is coated with medium tack adhesive
  • Full surface adhesive backing for direct floor application
  • Protective top sheet covering the first sticky layer
  • Protective bottom sheet covering the floor adhesive layer

When placing the mat, remove only the bottom protective sheet to expose the adhesive backing. Do not remove the bottom tack sheet that secures the mat to the floor.

FAQs

How often should the top layer be removed?

The top layer should be removed once it becomes visibly soiled or loses its tackiness. In high-traffic areas, this may be multiple times per day. Regular removal ensures consistent contamination control by exposing a fresh adhesive surface that continues capturing particulate from footwear and equipment wheels.

Does this mat require a frame for installation?

No, the mat features a full surface adhesive backing that secures directly to the floor, eliminating the need for a separate frame. This design simplifies installation and helps keep the mat flat and stable, reducing movement as personnel and carts pass over it.

Can the mat be used with rolling carts and equipment?

Yes, the medium tack adhesive is designed to remove contamination from both boots and rolling equipment, such as carts and casters. The durable polyethylene layers withstand repeated traffic while effectively capturing dirt and particles before they enter controlled areas.

Will the adhesive damage finished floors?

The bottom adhesive layer is designed to hold the mat securely in place during use while allowing removal when needed. When applied and removed properly, it is intended to minimize residue on most standard flooring surfaces used in cleanrooms and controlled environments.

Where should tacky mats be placed for best performance?

For optimal contamination control, mats should be placed directly at cleanroom entry points or transition areas where foot traffic and wheeled equipment move from uncontrolled to controlled spaces. Proper placement ensures contaminants are captured before they enter sensitive environments.
